Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your personal chauffeur guide. Head north to Negombo's vibrant fish market and lagoon for a brief morning exploration. Continue to Dambulla and visit the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple — a UNESCO World Heritage Site housing over 150 Buddha statues and stunning ancient murals. Check in to your hotel near Sigiriya and enjoy a special welcome dinner.
Rise early for a sunrise climb of the legendary Sigiriya Lion Rock (480m) — one of Asia's most breathtaking ancient citadels. Admire the famous 5th-century frescoes and the Mirror Wall. After breakfast at the hotel, drive through scenic countryside to Kandy, Sri Lanka's cultural capital. Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic and enjoy a traditional Kandyan cultural dance performance in the evening.
Drive through lush tea plantations to Nuwara Eliya, the "Little England" of Sri Lanka at 1,868m elevation. Visit a working tea factory for a guided tour and tasting. Board the iconic scenic mountain train from Nanu Oya / Hatton towards Ella — widely regarded as one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world. Watch the mist roll through emerald tea hills from your open window. Arrive in Ella and settle into your guesthouse.
Begin with a sunrise hike to Little Adam's Peak for panoramic views of the valley. Visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge — a colonial-era viaduct that makes for stunning photos. Then drive south to Yala National Park, home to the world's highest density of leopards. Embark on an exhilarating afternoon jeep safari in search of leopards, elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears, and exotic birds. Overnight in Tissamaharama.
Drive along the scenic southern coast to Mirissa beach — a stunning crescent bay perfect for a final morning swim. Continue to the magnificent Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Dutch in the 17th century. Stroll the ancient ramparts, browse boutique shops, and enjoy a farewell lunch. Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward journey.
