Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to nearby Negombo. Relax after your journey and enjoy the laid-back coastal atmosphere, golden beaches, and fresh seafood. Overnight stay in Negombo.
Travel to Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka's first ancient kingdom and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, the towering Ruwanwelisaya and Jetavanaramaya stupas, and the ancient monasteries and royal reservoirs that shaped the island's earliest civilisation. Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.
Visit Polonnaruwa, a beautifully preserved ancient city, home to the magnificent Gal Vihara, the Royal Palace ruins, and the Lankatilaka Temple. Later, enjoy a safari at Minneriya National Park (or Kaudulla), famous for its great gatherings of wild elephants. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, then continue to Kandy via the Dambulla Cave Temple and a spice garden in Matale. In the evening, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic and enjoy a traditional Kandyan cultural dance performance. Overnight stay in Kandy.
